SC/Manna Food Box Delivery Program
In addition to volunteers delivering food from local food resources and grocery stores, Senior Connection has partnered with Manna Food Center to provide wholesome and nutritious food through our SC/Manna Box Delivery Program.
We recognize that there are several issues that impede food security for area seniors. The goal of this program is to remove some of those impediments and provide that security. The SC/Manna Box Delivery Program ensures that a Manna food box is automatically delivered to participant clients every month.
What is a Manna Food Box?
Manna is a local food bank that opened its doors in 1983, and strives to eliminate hunger through food distribution (a “Manna Box”) and education. The box contains pantry staples (e.g. beans, pasta, canned vegetables, canned fruits), fresh fruits and vegetables, and a bag of frozen meat. Participants can request a vegetarian or diabetic box. Each box contains enough food for a month/per household and can weigh up to 70 pounds. To find more on Manna, click HERE.
Am I eligible?
You are eligible if you are 60+ years old, live in Montgomery County, and are a client of Senior Connection and of Manna.
I am not a client of Senior Connection, now what?
To become a client, please complete our application form and submit it. Once you have done that, please email Juanita (juanita.jarrett@seniorconnectionmc.org), and she will assist you.
I am not a client of Manna, now what?
No worries, we can help with that as well.
How does this all work?
Once you are set up as a client of Senior Connection and of Manna (if you are not already), a recurring monthly delivery date for your Manna box will be established and communicated to you. You do not need to call Senior Connection or Manna every month to request a box and delivery. Alina will take care of everything from here. For your first delivery, our driver will call you in advance to discuss delivery logistics.
