Board Member Application - Senior Connection

Term and Participation Expectations:

SCMC Board members are elected for a 2-year term (beginning July 1)

Vacancies can be filled on an ongoing basis

Board members are expected to attend all meetings

Board meetings are held bi-monthly on the third Thursday at 10am (virtual or in-person)

Board Member responsibilities include:

Advocate, support and outreach to promote the organization’s mission.
Serve as an ambassador for the organization.
Strengthen and support organizational fiduciary oversight and financial management of all material business decisions.
Contribute and develop policies and plans to advance organizational objectives.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director to advance the organizational mandate and mission.
Support a metrics-based approach to assess Board performance to ensure organizational outcomes and best-practices.
Contribute to an annual performance review of the Executive Director.
Assist in identifying, recruiting and approving other Board Members.
Operational support will consist of some combination of the following: committee service, review of agendas and organizational materials, and adherence to the organization’s bylaws and policies.
