Outdoor Excursions
For the first 20+ years of Senior Connection’s existence, we focused our entire attention on free transportation services to medical appointments and the grocery store for our community seniors. We’ve never lost sight of that mission. However, the COVID-19 pandemic that forced the entire world indoors reminded us even more of the importance and necessity of our mission to our senior community. It also showed us that we could be doing even more to enhance and enrich the lives of our community seniors. From the pandemic, Senior Connection’s exciting Outdoor Excursions program was born. Labeled as “a new way for seniors across Montgomery County to experience all that life has to offer”, the Outdoor Excursions program provides transportation to events, landmarks, educational experiences, and other local happenings across Montgomery County and throughout the DMV area. It is designed to enrich the social, cultural, artistic, and intellectual lives of our Montgomery County seniors.
What We Provide:
- Free and fee based transportation to events, landmarks, and experiences.
- Free and fee based tickets to events, landmarks, and experiences.
- One regular monthly trip to the movie theaters.
What We Cannot Provide:
- Transportation for anyone who does not meet the program eligibility requirements.
- Payment for anything purchased during the excursion (items from a gift shop, food and drink not provided with ticket, etc.). These are the client’s responsibility.
Client Responsibilities:
We ask that all clients abide by the following set of responsibilities.
- Be respectful to everyone.
- Understand that all excursions are limited in capacity and all available spots are filled on a first come, first served basis.
- If you need to drop out of an excursion that you have signed up for, please call the office immediately. Excessive cancellations may result in dismissal from the program.
- Be prepared to depart at the requested pick-up time or meeting time.
Applications are required for service.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU NEED TO BE A PART OF A GROUP OF 20 OR MORE PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM.
