Volunteer Orientation takes about one hour of your time and, within reason, is scheduled at the volunteer’s convenience.

The annual volunteer training is an opportunity for the volunteer to get additional training that will enhance the volunteer experience and increase the level of confidence in providing the services.
Volunteers receive an invitation to the annual training, usually in September or October.
In 2011, Fox Hill Senior Condominiums hosted the training session. The Senior Connection was grateful for the in-kind donation of the space, luncheon and tour of the facility following the training event. A sincere appreciation to Shelley Harris, Director of Marketing, for her warm greeting and for making this such a wonderful day for the volunteers.
Guest speakers also donated their time and expertise on the training subject matter. Sincere appreciation to the following professionals for sharing their extensive knowledge and experiences with the volunteers:
- George Simms, Asssitant State’s Attorney on “Empowering Seniors Against Fraud, Abuse and Neglect”
- Teja Safai, Vice President of Operations, ParaMed Medical Transport on “Tips for Safe Driving and “Care and Sensitivity Awareness”
- Sue Dollins, Executive Director and the staff of The Senior Connection ended the session with a Q-and-A session.
- Taja Safai made a very generous offer to provide one ParaMed service free of charge each week. Our sincere gratitude goes to Teja for this generous gift.
